Savoring is a fun mindfulness practice. Savoring is one of my favorite mindfulness practices. I don’t call it an exercise because exercise means work. Perhaps I will have to try savoring exercise to create a more positive mindset about it.

Savoring is simply deciding to focus all our conscious attention on completely experiencing what we are doing. For me a savoring event might be over a cup of coffee, a favorite snack, a walk in the woods or a meditative moment. It doesn’t have to be a lengthy process and we can savor just about anything we choose.

The practice of savoring is simply to try to be as aware of the sights, the smells, the sounds, the textures, the colors, the tastes as you can be as you experience it in those savoring moments. Take in everything you can that is present. Enjoy and explore all your sensory perceptions in those moments. Be fully there to experience whatever it is that you have chosen to savor whether it be a bite of food, a camp fire, the morning sunrise or a simple sip of coffee. Give savoring a try and savor something today. You will create your own “Feel Good Moment”.
